A few days back, we reported that iPhone Dev team had successfully jailbroken iOS 6, but we didn’t expect them to release jailbreak tools for beta version of iOS 6.
MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev team has just tweeted that they plan to release a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6.
He just tweeted:
In the spirit of the “experimental ecosystem” JBers provide, we’re releasing a DEVELOPER-only tethered JB for iOS6 (no Cydia, just SSH)
It seems to indicate that Dev team managed to jailbreak iOS 6 using older exploits that were used in previous jailbreaks, otherwise we don’t think they would have released a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 as it would give Apple an opportunity to fix it.
The tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 will give jailbreak developers a chance to test their jailbreak apps and tweaks on iOS 6.
MuscleNerd has also tweeted that he is aiming to release an updated version of Redsn0w that will allow iPhone 3GS users to downgrade the baseband from 06:15:00.
I’m aiming for Funday/Sunday for releasing the downgrade from 06.15, but that’s very much subject to possible delay
We’ll let you know as soon as we get any more details about the tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 as well as the 06:15:00 baseband downgrade for iPhone 3GS users, so stay tuned here at iPhone Hacks or join our Facebook Fan page or follow us on Twitter or add us on Google+ or subscribe to our RSS feed.
