Spotify released an update for their iOS app last night, which brings Pandora-like radio feature to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The Radio feature was introduced for the desktop version of the service last year.
The new feature allows you to create your own radio stations by tapping into Spotify’s catalog of more than 16 million tracks.
You can start a radio station based on your favorite artist, album or playlist. You will be able to create an unlimited number of stations.
You can also listen to one of the recommended radio stations or radio stations based on your favorite genre.
You can save songs by giving it a thumbs up. The songs are saved in the “Liked from Radio” playlist. Spotify claims that the radio stations will be personalized real-time when users like (thumbs up) or dislike (thumbs down) a song.
Until now Spotify’s app could be used only by premium members, but with this new Radio feature, free members in the US will also be able to use the Spotify app on their iOS device. Paying members won’t have to listen to audio ads and will be able to skip unlimited number of tracks.
The new radio feature is also available to paying members outside the US.
The updated app also includes the following bug fixes and improvements:
- Improved: Long-press on any track to show an improved context menu
- People view scrolls more smoothly
- Stability improved

The update is available for download in the App Store.
