Apple: Mountain Lion Most Successful OS X Release; Downloaded Over 3 Million Times in Four Days

Apple has announced that OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) that was released last week has already been downloaded over 3 million times in just four days, making it the most successful OS X release in Apple’s history.

From Apple’s press release:

“Just a year after the incredibly successful introduction of Lion, customers have downloaded Mountain Lion over three million times in just four days, making it our most successful release ever,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

To put things in perspective, OS X Lion (10.7) was downloaded 1 million times on the first day and it took 72 days to reach the 6 million milestone.
