Best iPhone And iPad Apps For London 2012 Olympics

The London 2012 Olympics kicks off in a few hours from now.

NBC Olympics Live Extra:

NBC will be broadcasting the London 2012 Olympics live in the U.S. and they’ve released NBC Olympics Live Extra app for iPhone and iPad that allows subscribers to watch the coverage live on their iPhone or iPad.

The app also allows you to set reminders for the live events so that you won’t miss out on them. The video content is only accessible in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories.

In addition to NBC Olympics Live Extra app, NBC has also released an app called NBC Olympics, which will serve up highlights, real-time results, schedules, medal counts, and “second screen experience” like trivia and Olympics-specific social media feeds.

If you’re in the UK, then you can download the BBC app to watch the coverage live on their iPhone.

The app offers up to 24 live video streams. You can catch live commentary of the events, video highlights of the action, medals table, detailed schedule and results for every event.

You don’t need a subscription to watch the live streaming but need to be based in the UK.

This is one of the official apps for London 2012 Olympics. The universal app provides all the latest news, schedules and results to keep up-to-date with the latest action live over the next two weeks (25 July to 12 August 2012). It also provides calendar schedule, details of sports, medal tables and athlete profiles.

The app allows you to follow your country and set up push notifications for medal alerts, daily summary and daily medal summary.

You can also check out the which sporting events are taking place on a given day and set reminders so that you don’t miss them.
