A new patent that was granted to Apple few days back revealed that it is working on technology that could allow iOS devices to be charged wirelessly.
But London-based Tanveer Islam didn’t want to wait for Apple to introduce the feature in future iOS devices, so he has figured out a way to hack his iPhone 4S to charge it wirelessly using Powermat.
Tanveer’s mod involves disassembling the iPhone, Powermat receiver as well as some soldering. Tanveer writes:
There are wireless charging options out there such as the powermat system but they all involve slipping on a jacket around the iPhone. I wanted to internalize the technology so that the beauty of the iPhone is not hidden away! It’s taken a while to complete but it’s finally done.

PhoneArena reports that Tanveer’s next project is to install a hidden wireless charger in the center console of his car that works with this system.
What do you think about the possibility of wireless charging your iPhone and iPad?
