Apple Releases OS X Mountain Lion on Mac App Store For $19.99

As expected, Apple has released its next generation Mac operating system – Mountain Lion.

Mountain Lion brings many popular features and apps from the iPad to the Mac including Messages, Notes, Reminders, Game Center, Notification Center, Share Sheets, Twitter integration and AirPlay Mirroring.

Mountain Lion also includes new features such as Power Nap, Dictation, Game Center, improved security with Gatekeeper, and lots more.

“People are going to love the new features in Mountain Lion and how easy it is to download and install from the Mac App Store,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With iCloud integration, Mountain Lion is even easier to set up, and your important information stays up to date across all your devices so you can keep editing documents, taking notes, creating reminders, and continue conversations whether you started on a Mac, iPhone or iPad.”

Mountain Lion – the ninth major release of OS X is available exclusively in the Mac App Store for $19.99. You can download it using this direct Mac App Store link.

If you’ve purchased a Mac on or after June 11th then you can upgrade for free from the Mac App Store. Check out this link for more details. However, it looks like there is a glitch with the system as a number of users are reporting that the codes they’ve received are showing up as invalid or already used.
