BrowseInApp: Jailbreak Tweak Allows You To Open Links Within The App [Updated]

Currently, when you tap on a link in an email in the Mail app, it opens the link in mobile Safari. It is not the best user experience as you end up exiting the Mail app.

Developer Alan Yip has just released a new jailbreak tweak on Cydia called BrowseInApp that as the name suggests opens the links within the app, which means that you don’t have to exit the Mail app. It loads the link in WebKit based browser window.

You can close the in-app browser window by tapping the ‘x’ button at the bottom right corner and continue using the app.

After installing the tweak, it will prompt you to open the link either within the app or open the link in Safari.

You can also change the settings to open the link within the app by default.

BrowseInApp is a nifty little jailbreak tweak. It is available in Cydia for $0.99.

Update (August 22nd, 2012):

Developer Alan Yip has recently released an update for the tweak and we love the native iOS look and feel. It doesn’t look out of place like the previous version. It’s a must-have jailbreak tweak.

Here’s the list of new features and improvements:

  • Full-featured browser
  • Image viewer: View and download image in the image viewer with zooming support.
  • Minimization: Minimizing the browser within the app makes you easier to control inside the instant messaging apps
  • Theme: Include four browser themes (Default, Silver, Grey and Black).
  • Excluded apps: Disable the functionality of this tweak in the specific apps.

Give it a shot and let us know what you think.
