iPhone 5 Release Date – September 21 Confirmed?

TechCrunch has just reported that according to their source, Verizon is having an all-staff vacation blackout from September 21 to September 30, which is in line with the rumored September 21 release date.

A trusted Verizon employee has just confirmed to TechCrunch that the carrier is having an all-staff vacation blackout from the dates of Friday, September 21 to the following Friday, September 30.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the next generation iPhone, popularly referred to as ‘iPhone 5′ at a special event on September 12. It is also speculated that Apple will start taking pre-orders on the same day, followed by the launch after 9 days on  September 21.

Last year, Apple unveiled iPhone 4S on October 4th, 2011 and started taking pre-orders on October 7th, 2011, followed by the launch in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and UK on October 14th, 2011. In the second wave, Apple launched iPhone 4S in 22 countries on October 28th, 2011, two weeks after the initial launch.

Last week, a report claimed that AT&T was also gearing up for the ‘iPhone 5′ launch in late September.

So it looks like we’ll be able to get our hands on Apple’s new iPhone on September 21st. Are you excited? Will you be buying or upgrade to iPhone 5?
