More Photos Of Leaked ‘iPhone 5′ And ‘iPad Mini’ Parts

Repair firm iResQ has posted photos, which they claim are of the flex cable components for the next generation iPhone and iPad mini, housing the smaller dock connector, the headphone jack and the home button.

The photos of the leaked parts reveal that they will be available in both black and white color.

iResQ reports:

Well, we’ve had iPhone 5 and iPad Mini parts for some time now, but we’ve decided that we’d like to share this with our faithful readers.  In the first picture below, you’ll see two 8-pin dock connector and headphone jack assemblies for the Mini iPad on the left.  On the right, you’ll see two 8-pin dock connector and headphone jack assemblies for the iPhone 5 (or “New iPhone”).

The photos of the purported next generation iPhone and iPad mini parts indicates that the headphone jack will indeed be at the bottom, which is similar to the photo of the purported iPad mini component that surfaced earlier in the week.

According to rumors, the new dock connector will offer faster transfer rates and orientation independence. The photo embedded below gives a closer look at the interior of the smaller dock connector with the 8 gold pins, that is rumored to make its way in the entire lineup of iOS devices that will be launched later this fall.

iResQ has also confirmed that there is just one set of 8 gold pin contacts. There are none on the top side as you can see in the photo below.

The metallic frame around the connector that is missing from the photo is supposed to serve as a grounding pin, bringing the number to 9, consistent with what has been seen in the iOS 6 SDK.

MacRumors points out:

These new iPad mini part photos also reveal a newer part number than seen on the previous part leak. These new photos appear to carry a part number of 821-1516, while the photo leaked early this week carried a part number of 821-1476. These iPad mini parts are the first interior components of the device to appear, and while they have not been confirmed to be for the device in question they are consistent with Apple parts and are too large to fit inside an iPhone.

Apple is widely expected to unveil ‘iPhone 5′ and iPad min at a special event in September.

i think, both components are for the iphone. I believe there are couple of iphone models on the best/test stage. Apple should test taller model, and bigger model of iphone.
