Clean Up Your iTunes Library with TuneUp [Deal Ends Today]

I think we should call today Suntunesday. A day to clean up one’s iTunes collection. Right, except that cleaning up iTunes is about on par with cleaning the gutters in the whole “how I’d like to spend a Sunday” task list.

Let me make it a little easier for you. Check out TuneUp and for $30 you can let it do the work for you?—Cleanup Your iTunes With TuneUp: Clean & Organize Your iTunes Music Collection in Just a Few Clicks

TuneUp is an iTunes plugin that deals with the most annoying things about iTunes: wrong titles, duplicates, and missing cover art. I’m going to bet that a lot of you are like me and have an iTunes library that is somewhere between dreadful and chaos (in terms of organization, not music…), so check out the main features below:

Key TuneUp Features

Clean
Accurately fixes mislabeled or missing song information (like “Track 01” or “Unknown Artist”) using cutting-edge waveform recognition.

Cover Art
Scans your entire music collection in seconds and automagically™ fills in missing album artwork.

DeDuper
Intelligently finds and removes duplicate music files from your music library using waveform recognition.

Tuniverse
Delivers music videos, artist bios, concert alerts, social network integration and more.

New Feature Inside Tuniverse
Lyrics: view lyrics to your favorite songs as they’re played in iTunes and Windows Media Player!

Features are great, but I know you don’t want to unleash some random iTunes plugin on your collection without a little assurance that it’s going to be okay…

Reviews

“TuneUp is an awesome plug-in that hooks into an online database and analyzes your incorrect track titles and automatically renames them for you.” – WIRED

“Quite possibly the most important piece of software any music lover can buy.” – UNCRATE

“Does it work? It does. I had about a thousand songs with crazy titles. The system cleaned most of them up in about ten minutes.” – TechCrunch

“Aside from its cool retro rocket-man logo, the service offers nothing short of a complete overhaul of your iTunes library.” – MTV

Good? Okay, so let’s make this Suntunesday after all.

Not in-text, but full text advertising. Not bad.

Good idea but Not worth $30 as most only need to run this once in a blue moon.

Tuneup sucks. Slow as hell. Does not find correct song names 10 percent of the time. Buggy, needs a lot of restarts. My installation just stopped working altogether after a week. (freezed at startup).

Easier to wipe itunes clean and fix the tags on your backup files with mp3tag. And then import to itunes. Yes, it will take days. But it will be less frustrating than the Tuneup “solution”.

This product is too expensive, even at half price and does not work properly on most of my songs.
