EE Launches First 4G Mobile Network in UK

Ee 2

In North America we’ve had 4G and LTE for a while now, but in other places they are still waiting. Unless you’re in the U.K. and are a EE subscriber, then 4G is live for you today.

EE has launched 4G in several cites today with more to come in the months ahead:

BBC News – UK’s first 4G mobile service launched in 11 cities by EE: “London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow and Southampton will have access to network EE’s 4G from Tuesday morning.

Other mobile networks will not be able to offer 4G until next year.”

From the looks of the EE 4G page there are three or four handsets they offer on their network with 4G. I  couldn’t get a page of specific devices, but I saw iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, a Windows Phone (maybe Windows Phone 8) and a couple other devices. Looks like the U.K. is finally getting the fast mobile speed that we’ve been getting in North America.

Happy surfing!

It’s disappointing pricing. There should be unlimited data option. The highest data option is $90 for 8GB? Why don’t they offer unlimited option like T-mobile? We don’t like to care about data usage.
I’m using T-mobile 3G as far as unlimited usage option with 41GBP is available and not change to expensive and thicker but limited meaningless BROAD band.
