Yesterday, Apple sent out invites for a media event on October 23.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the smaller and cheaper tablet, dubbed iPad mini at the event.
9to5Mac has just tweeted that they’ve heard whispers that Apple will launch the iPad mini on November 2nd.
We’ve heard whispers of Nov. 2 iPad Mini release date but nothing confirmed. Date makes sense (Friday) and we know stock is ramping
This doesn’t come as a surprise as it is the most obvious date for a launch given Apple’s past history.
For example: Apple unveiled the 3rd generation iPad on March 7th and started taking pre-orders on the same day, followed by the launch in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK after 9 days on March 16th.
In the case of iPhone 5, Apple unveiled the new iPhone on September 12 and started taking pre-orders on September 14th, followed by the launch in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the UK again after 9 days on September 21st.
And since Apple typically releases new devices on Friday, November 2nd seems like the most obvious release date for iPad mini. We also expect Apple to start taking pre-orders for iPad mini on October 23, just after making the announcements.
