A sign of both the warming relations between Apple and Facebook and a just in time for the holidays great gift idea, Facebook Gifts now offers iTunes Cards!
Not that we can give gifts through Facebook in Canada (or outside the U.S. right now), but today Facebook announced that you can now give iTunes gift cards to your Facebook friends:
Starting today with Facebook Gifts, you can instantly gift your friends iTunes digital gifts and recommend albums, movies, games, apps, and more available on the iTunes Store.
Search for a specific song or album to recommend, or let your friend decide. iTunes digital gifts are available for $10, $15, $25, or $50.
You can learn more about Facebook Gifts on the info page. I hope that Facebook has worked it out with Apple so Facebook isn’t shipping pieces of plastic through the mail. That would be a serious waste since all you need is the code to redeem the value of the card.
Don’t know about you, but I love getting (and giving) iTunes cards. I like to stock up at Costco and get the multipacks for quick gifts. Nothing says thank you like letting someone buy an app or album they’ve been wanting to pick up.
