		</div>
With just two weeks to go for the shutdown of Google Reader, Feedly has just rolled out its Cloud Sync Service, which will help in seamlessly replacing Google Reader.
It is a major milestone for the service, which is one of the <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/05/feedly.html">best alternative to Google Reader</a> currently.
Feedly has also released a standalone web version, which will work on all major browsers, without the need to install a browser plugin.
If you&#8217;re an existing user then you have to make sure you&#8217;ve the latest version of Feedly installed, and they will migrate your Google Reader subscriptions to feedly cloud over the next few days. If you are new to feedly, just head to <a href="http://feedly.com" target="_blank">http://feedly.com</a> and select “Import Your Google Reader”, for a simple one-click migration from Google Reader to feedly cloud.
Feedly has also disclosed that it is currently processing 25 million feeds and crunching through billions of articles published everyday.
Feedly has also announced the launch of the first feedly cloud applications, which include IFTTT, Sprout Social, NextGen Reader, Press, and Newsify.
Do you still use Google Reader? Which service do you plan to switch to when it shuts down?

Apple has just released a major software update for the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV.
Apple TV Software Update 5.3 brings HBO GO and WatchESPN to Apple TV. The update also brings Sky News&#8217; 24/7 news feed and on-demand news library, Crunchyroll, the leading global video service for Japanese Anime and Asian media and Qello, a leading on-demand streaming service for HD concerts and music documentaries.
Apple has also issued a <a href="http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2013/06/19HBO-GO-WatchESPN-Come-to-Apple-TV.html" target="_blank">press release</a> to announce the availability of HBO GO and WatchESPN on Apple TV.
“HBO GO and WatchESPN are some of the most popular iOS apps and are sure to be huge hits on Apple TV,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We continue to offer Apple TV users great new programming options, combined with access to all of the incredible content they can purchase from the iTunes Store.”
HBO Go on Apple TV requires a subscription to HBO through participating television providers.
WatchESPN on Apple TV is available to users who receive ESPN’s networks as part of their video subscription from affiliated providers.
Sky News on Apple TV is available to users in the US, UK and Ireland.
You need a subscription for Crunchyroll and Qello, which you can sign up for directly on Apple TV. Crunchyroll offers a 7-day free trial, after which you have to pay $6.99 per month. Qello also offers a 7-day free trial, after which you have to pay $4.99 per month.
The Apple TV update is available to all 2nd and 3rd gen Apple TV devices right away.
Apple has also disclosed that iTunes viewers are now purchasing over 800,000 TV episodes and 350,000 movies per day, and they have downloaded more than one billion TV episodes and 380 million movies from iTunes to date.

		</div>
According to NDTV, an Indian news publication, Apple has reintroduced the 16GB iPhone 4 in the country.
NDTV claims that they&#8217;ve received a confirmation from multiple sources. However, Apple doesn&#8217;t seem to have officially announced it. Its <a href="http://www.apple.com/in/iphone/iphone-4/specs.html" target="_blank">website in India</a> also hasn&#8217;t been updated to reflect the new storage option.
NDTV reports that 16GB iPhone 4 is available for Rs. 31,800 (approx. $540). It is already available on online retailers like <a href="http://ezyby.com/mobiles/iphone/iphone-4-16gb-black#.UcGJg4J4alh" target="_blank">Ezyby</a>. The 8GB iPhone 4 has been available for Rs. 26,500 (approx. $450).

Black and White 16Gb iPhone 4 listed on Ezyby&#8217;s website
If the report is accurate then it is an interesting move by Apple as it would be the first time the company has offered a storage option for its older generation iPhone.
iPhone 4 was first launched in 2010 with 16GB and 32GB storage options. However, Apple discontinued the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 when it launched the iPhone 4S in 2011 and launched the 8GB iPhone 4. It has continued to offer the 8GB iPhone 4 after the launch of iPhone 5 last year and is the entry level model.
The 16GB iPhone 4S is available for Rs. 33,500 (approx. $570) and the iPhone 5 starts at Rs. 45,500 (approx. $765).
Apple has seen a significant jump in iPhone sales in India in the last few quarters thanks to <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/02/apple-sees-four-fold-jump-in-iphone-sales-in-india.html">cash back</a>, <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/05/apple-india-discount.html">trade-in offers</a> and agressive marketing.
It would have been logical if Apple had offered the 16GB iPhone 4 below the Rs. 30,000 price tag, but offering the 3-year old iPhone for just Rs. 1700 (approx. $30) below the iPhone 4S seems like a strange move in our opinion.
Let us know what you think in the comments.

		</div>Facebook has released a major update for its iOS app, which brings the status icons to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Facebook had introduced status icons in the web version in April. Facebook status icons are like emoticons, which show what you&#8217;re feeling, watching, reading, drinking, listening to, eating, or playing.
Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s new in Facebook 6.2:
• Add icons to status updates to show what you&#8217;re feeling, reading, watching and more (English only)
• Easily change who can see something you&#8217;ve shared
• Start a new conversation with photos you receive in messages
• Bug fixes

To access the status icons, tap on the smiley button next to the camera button while composing the status update.
You can download the update via the App Store app or download the app for free using this direct <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8" target="_blank">iTunes link</a>.
Let us know what you think of the new version in the comments below.

		</div>
iOS 7 includes integration with Flickr and Vimeo. Developer, Hamza Sood has discovered code references in iOS 7 beta, which indicate that Apple is also working on integrating LinkedIn in iOS 7.
Yesterday, Sood had discovered the <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/hidden-settings-in-ios-7-reveals-new-gestures-nested-folders-and-more-video.html">hidden Settings in iOS 7</a>, which revealed Apple is testing new gestures and folder enhancements.
We&#8217;re assuming that the LinkedIn integration will work like the Facebook and Twitter integration, where users will be able to post content directly on LinkedIn via a share sheet.
<a href="http://9to5mac.com/2013/06/18/apple-testing-deep-linkedin-integration-for-ios-7/">9to5Mac</a> reports that Sood has discovered LinkedIn related code in iOS 7 beta, but certain pieces are still missing, which is probably the reason it is not available to users currently.
As 9to5Mac points out, it won&#8217;t come as a surprise if LinkedIn is deeply integrated in iOS 7 as <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/os-x-mavericks-accounced.html">OS X Mavericks</a>, the next major update of OS X includes a Shared Links feature in the new Sidebar, which shows links posted by people you follow on Twitter and LinkedIn.
Here&#8217;s a look at some of the LinkedIn related code references discovered in iOS 7 beta:

		</div>A number of readers have informed us that the Voice Memos app is missing in <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/ios-7-beta-download.html">iOS 7 beta</a> that was seeded to developers last week.
The good news is that, it will be available in future iOS 7 beta release as a leaked image from the WWDC developer sessions shows the Voice Memos app on the Home screen of an iPod touch running iOS 7. It looks like the app will also get an <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/ios-7-vs-ios-6-app-icons-comparison-chart.html">all-new icon</a>, which is not surprising.

As MacRumors <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2013/06/18/leaked-image-suggests-voice-memo-will-return-in-future-ios-7-beta-release/" target="_blank">points</a> out, Apple has mentioned the lack of Voice Memos app as one of the known issues of first beta version of iOS 7.
Voice Memos &#8211; Known Issues
 The VoiceMemos app is not available in this seed.
So don&#8217;t worry, the Voice Memos app should be available in iOS 7 when it is released to the public. It remains to be seen if Apple will include it in the next beta version of iOS 7.

		</div>
Apple has seeded <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/ios-7-beta-download.html">beta version of iOS 7 for iPhone and iPod touch</a> to developers of the iOS Developer program, but it is yet to release the beta version for the iPad.
Few days back, we showed you how <a href="http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/06/heres-what-ios-7-looks-like-on-ipad-gallery.html">iOS 7 may look like on the iPad</a>, however it had some discrepancies as it was essentially an iPhone version hacked to worked on an iPad simulator in Xcode 5.
MacRumors now point us to a YouTube video, in which a Russian user demonstrates iOS 7 running on an iPad. The user claims that it is an alpha version of iOS 7 running on the iPad. The 93 seconds video reveals the following tidbits:

Unlike the iOS 7 screenshots on the iPad, the video reveals that Notification Center and Control Center will not take the entire width of the screen like we have currently.
The Control Center quite rightly doesn&#8217;t have a toggle for the Flashlight, which was seen in the iOS 7 screenshots, instead it includes options for AirDrop and AirPlay.

The Control Center for the iPad also doesn&#8217;t have access to shortcuts for apps such as the Alarm, Calculator and the Camera like the iPhone Control Center.
The video also gives us a glimpse of what some of the redesigned stock apps like Music and Videos will look on the iPad in iOS 7. They look quite similar to the iPhone version.
It also shows how the 2x app mode will work in iOS 7.

There is currently no information available on when iOS 7 for the iPad will be released.
Let us know what you think about iOS 7 on the iPad in the comments below.

		</div>It has been a long time coming, but Microsoft Office is finally available on the iPhone. Strangely, it is not available on the iPad, and for both iOS and Android tablets Microsoft still recommends using the web-based apps for free SkyDrive accounts. The iPhone client can only be used by those with an Office 365 subscription, which costs $100 for an annual subscription. If you are a subscriber, you download and sign in or create an account.  What you get is an application which is practically a direct port of the Office suite found on Windows Phones.

The Windows Phone look and feel echoes throughout the app, with Metro (the former name of Microsoft&#8217;s new design language) all over. However, the app still conforms to the usual iOS structure. Some have criticised the app already for a poor mixture of the two styles. However, the interface felt intuitive and natural to me, with the exception of text selection. Whereas iOS usually lets you select a word by long-pressing, this app requires a double-tap to highlight a word.

Unfortunately, the app has inherited the same limitations as the Windows Phone Office suite as well.  It is not possible to create PowerPoint files, and Excel formulae cannot be copied and pasted. You&#8217;ll also find that OneNote is not part of this Office suite, though it has been available separately as an iOS app for quite some time. This also reflects the situation on Windows Phone – OneNote was part of the Office &#8220;Hub&#8221; in WP7, but separated into a separate app in WP8.

The iPhone Office suite has four tabs (or buttons) at the bottom of the screen, which reflect the different pivots of the Windows Phone Office hub panorama. Just as with the Windows Phone &#8220;Places&#8221; pivot, you may add SharePoint accounts.  A shortcut to your SkyDrive and/or any of its folders can be added to the Places list for easy access, as well as SharePoint Online (part of Office 365 for business) and on-premise SharePoint.

One could be forgiven for saying that it&#8217;s too late for Microsoft to enter the market as there are more than enough alternative office suites, most of which have rich functionality and dependable file                     compatibility. However, there will always be some formatting that may not survive the round trip to a mobile client and back to the desktop. At least with Microsoft&#8217;s own client, you can be sure your original formatting will survive being edited on your iPhone. That being said, Office Mobile for iOS only offers limited formatting capability.

Word
This will probably be the most used segment of the mobile Office suite, and Microsoft has given it proportionate development time. It starts out in a read-only view, which I hoped would display a print layout. Instead, both the read and edit modes show a line-wrapped version of the document. This indicates that the app is intended for quick reference, rather than formatting.

Tables are displayed without line wrapping, which can lead to a degree of horizontal scrolling. Similarly, images are shown as in the desktop versions of Word, but they cannot be edited or removed nor can you add tables or images.

Despite these limitations, you can do all of the essentials such as changing the font size, color, highlight color, along with bold, italics, underline and strikethrough. However, there are no paragraph or heading styles available either – this is just the same on the Windows Phone version of Office.
Excel
Excel gives a clean representation of its desktop counterpart. If you were worried that you might not have access to a plethora of Spreadsheet functions, do not fear as there are more functions than you can reasonably count, or compare against the desktop client. Within a spreadsheet file, you are able to switch between sheets.

Excel doesn&#8217;t have a read-only mode like Word. After selecting a range of cells, opening the edit menu allows you to create a chart of use the &#8220;Autosum&#8221; feature. These require some explaining. Creating a chart creates a whole new sheet, rather than embedding in the current sheet. Additionally, the Autosum feature does not insert a sum formula into the spreadsheet. Instead, it brings up a window with various calculations on the highlighted range, such as sum, average, minimum and maximum. You are also able to add comments to cells and freeze ranges – the latter is useful for keeping headings visible while scrolling through large amounts of data.

PowerPoint
The presentation part of the mobile Office suite is far less functional than its siblings. It can display the contents of a file in a no-or-little compromised form. However, there are few editing facilities. It is not possible to create PowerPoint files, nor can you add or remove slides from a file. All you can do is edit comments to each slide, and edit text frames within a slide. Given the third party options out there, this is disappointing.

Conclusion
This is far from the all-singing all-dancing Office suite that you may have been dreaming of. It does what it does well, but there are severe limitations on what it can actually do. Given that most Office users have yet to take up the subscription option, many cannot even access it.  This being said, the Metro-inspired design is a welcome break from the skeuomorphisms of iOS, and it will match even better with iOS7. I also find it disappointing that you have to be online to access your files. Even in this age of cloud computing, sometimes you need offline access to files, and as of yet Microsoft hasn&#8217;t provided that on iOS or Windows Phone.
If you&#8217;re rarely out of signal range, and you only need to read or make minor adjustments to files, then it makes perfect sense to use Office for iPhone, if you&#8217;re already an Office 365 subscriber. However, if you need to work offline or to have greater editing capabilities, then you should keep looking at the competition.
