Developer Hamza Sood has discovered hidden Settings in iOS 7, which reveals that Apple is testing additional gestures, folder and multitasking options.
The hidden Settings reveals the following features:

System wide edge swipe and corner swipe gestures, probably for features such as quick app switching. iOS 7 already comes with new swipe gestures to navigate back to the main menu in some of the stock iOS apps.

Ability to delete pre-installed iOS apps
Ability to create nested folders i.e. folder within a folder.
Pinch to close folders
Options to tweak blur effects, coloring and animated speeds

Check out the video below, which shows how some of these features work:

It remains to be seen if Apple will enable any of these feature when it releases iOS 7 to the public.

When Apple introduced FaceTime over cellular feature in iOS 6 last September, AT&T only allowed customers with a Mobile Share plan to use the feature.
Since then it has been slowly expanding access to the feature to other customers.
In November, it expanded FaceTime over cellular access to any customer with an LTE device on a tiered data plan to use the feature.
Then earlier this year, it further expanded access to the feature to all customers on a tiered data plan. This meant that the only customers to be left out was AT&T customers with a grandfathered unlimited data plan.
However, last month, AT&T announced that unlimited data plan customers who have an iPhone 5 or any other LTE device will be able to finally use the feature in June, followed by any customer with the unlimited data plan by the end of the year.
AppleInsider now reports that AT&T has started activating FaceTime over cellular on LTE and HSPA+ devices for customers with grandfathered unlimited data plans.
So far, activation of the service has been verified in parts of New York, Maryland, Georgia, Louisiana, California and Hawaii. Voice and video quality is nearly on a par with the Wi-Fi implementation of the service, suggesting AT&T is not throttling those subscribers who choose to use the feature while on the go.
It is unknown to which, or how many, locations AT&T has rolled out the service, though the company appears to be targeting large metropolitan areas first.
If you’re an AT&T customer with grandfathered unlimited data plan, then please do let us know if FaceTime over cellular is working in your area.

There’s a whole lot of UI elements that got a major facelift in iOS 7. We’ve told you about the redesigned stock apps, the redesigned icons and in this post, we show you a comparison of the default UI elements in iOS 6 and iOS 7.
Apple recommends using translucent UI elements, border less buttons, and “flat” icons, many of them just outlines, all of which are reflected in the default UI. Here’s the comparison:

Apple believes that the new UI elements, together with the entire new design language, would help emphasise content more than the UI.
The reaction has obviously been polarising, with some claiming they’re switching to Android while others urging everyone to wait for the annoyances and problems to be sorted out through the beta cycle.
What do you think?

Photos of what appear to be the logic board of the iPhone 5S have been posted on Japanese site Moumantai. The logic board shown in the images is nearly identical to the one found in the iPhone 5 except for a few minor changes.

The part on the left belongs to the iPhone 5S while the one on the right is the iPhone 5’s logic board. The iPhone 5S component shows us a placeholder for the next generation A series chip, and seems bigger than the corresponding area in the iPhone 5’s logic board.
Apart from that, the shape of the board at the bottom is different, possibly hinting at a different internal arrangement around the speaker area.

The increasing frequency of iPhone 5S related component leaks makes the rumored September-October a likely release timeframe. Like previous “S” upgrades, the iPhone 5S is widely expected to look like the iPhone 5, but come with improved internals such as a faster A-series processor, improved camera system and possibly new features such as fingerprint sensor and NFC.

iOS 7′s completely redesigned UI has had a polarizing effect on users. There are some who love it and can’t wait for Apple to release it later this fall, while there are some who hate it so much that they’re thinking of switching to Android.
Well-connected Apple blogger Jim Dalrymple has some advice to users in his blog post “Don’t worry about iOS 7.”
Dalrymple who is just back after attending WWDC has this to say:
First, it’s nowhere near finished in terms of design or functionality. Apple engineers stopped adding or changing the operating system before WWDC so they had a stable build to show during the keynote. It’s not done 1.
Second—and I’m surprised I even have to say this—it’s a beta for developers. This is not a build any individual user should install—ever. It wasn’t meant for you and installing it shouldn’t even be on your radar.
[..] This is not the time, as a user, for you to decide if you’re going to upgrade to iOS 7. You shouldn’t even be considering that yet. Let Apple do its thing with the operating system, let developers work on their apps and you be calm.
We doubt Apple will add new features that will blow us away, but it goes without saying that Apple will use the beta phase to polish the user interface to address some of the inconsistencies. Meanwhile, developers will work on updating their apps for iOS 7′s UI and also ensure their apps don’t crash when it is released to the public.
As Dalrymple says, we just need to be patient. And people writing bad reviews for apps crashing in iOS 7 beta, please don’t as developers can fix iOS 7 related issues only after Apple releases iOS 7 golden master, which is usually a week or two before the public release.

Skype has just enabled its video messaging feature to its iPhone, iPad and Mac apps.
Skype had launched the feature earlier in the year as a preview, which allowed some users to send up to 20 free video messages, after which they needed to buy Skype’s premium subscription for $4.99 per month.
Skype says that the video messaging feature is out of preview, which will allow users to send and receive as many video messages as they want for free.
Skype Video Messaging adds another great way to keep in touch with friends and family during life’s most meaningful moments. Send a video message to your friends and family today—it’s easy. You can capture a fleeting memory, create a heartfelt reminder or simply tell a friend or family member “wish you were here” even when they aren’t online

Recording a video message on your iPhone, iPad or Mac app is quite simple. When you tap on a Contact in Skype, you should now see a new “Video Message” button if the contact is offline (or tap on the More button for the Video message option for an online contact), tap on it. Then tap on the red record button when you’re ready to record the video message. The video message can be up to 3 minutes long. You also get the option to preview the recorded message, so you can delete and re-record it until you’re happy. When you’re ready, tap on the envelope icon to send the video message to the recipient. Recipients will get a notification and an email message, informing them about the new video message, which will appear in the message and call history.
What do you think of Skype’s video messaging feature? Let us know in the comments.

pod2g, a key member of the Evad3rs dev team who released evasi0n, the software that allowed users to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 6 to iOS 6.1.2 has just expressed his disappointment with iOS 7 features and has said that he is about to switch to Android.
Few minutes back he tweeted:
After a few days of iOS 7 beta 1 testing, I must admit that I am about to switch to an Android device.
— pod2g (@pod2g) June 17, 2013

IMHO, this version of iOS is the worst move Apple did in a long time.
— pod2g (@pod2g) June 17, 2013

iOS 7 design is awful, it's slow, battery life time is the worst ever, it's full of UI bugs and crashes. OK it's beta 1, but still…
— pod2g (@pod2g) June 17, 2013

I am pretty disappointed by the features I've seen in iOS 7. No revolution here. No big news. Just kid painting.
— pod2g (@pod2g) June 17, 2013

He was also quite disappointed with the iPhone 5. We really hope he doesn’t switch to Android as it would be a big blow to the jailbreak community.
What do you think about iOS 7? Do you agree with pod2g? Let us know in the comments.

At the WWDC Keynote last week, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi announced that iOS 7 SDK will includes more than 1500 new APIs for developers including support for MFi (Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad) game controllers.
The APIs will finally allow accessory manufacturers to create game controllers for Apple’s iOS devices. According to rumors, Apple is working with Logitech and MOGA to produce game controllers for iOS devices.
Kotaku has posted an image, which it claims is of the iOS game controller manufactured by Logitech.
With Steve Jobs no longer around to tell us these things aren’t elegant enough for his device, it appears we’ll finally get a proper gamepad for the iOS this year. This will be one of them, made by Logitech.

Also touched-on during today’s WWDC keynote, iOS 7 will include support for third-party game controllers when it releases this fall. It’s… Read…
Can’t tell you who gave it to us or where it was seen, but we can vouch for this image’s authenticity. The controller is large enough to fit an iPhone 5. When iOS 7 introduces third-party controller support in the fall we’ll see this thing, plus a bunch of others, probably.
Back in March, there was rumors that Apple will launch its own game controller for iOS devices, however well-connected Apple blogger, Jim Dalrymple had categorically refuted it. Kotaku also reports that Apple is not working on its own game controller for iOS devices.
Are you excited about the possibility of Apple approved game controllers for iOS devices?

Facebook is going to hold an event on the 20th. Most people think they’re announce some sort of new reader application for all those people looking for a Google Reader replacement. Turns out that’s not the case. According to sources who have spoken to TechCrunch, Facebook is going to announce that Instagram is going to get video support. Said support will be pretty much line Twitter’s Vine service, meaning you’re probably only going to be allowed to upload a short video.

Considering that today is the 17th, I’m not too fused whether this rumor is true or not since the event is close. I personally don’t use Vine, nor do I know anyone else who does. And I’m not sure video on Instagram is going to take off either due to the effort it takes to produce a video, versus taking a quick snapshot of your lunch.
We’ll see how the cookie crumbles in 72 hours.
