Retro RPG Baldur’s Gate Comes To The iPad

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, a new version of the classic 1998 computer role-playing game with the same name, has made its way onto the iPad.

The iPad edition of the game packs in a lot of improvements and additions, featuring a new expansion pack, new characters and runs on an upgraded version of “Infinity Engine,” which was developed specifically for tablets.

The entire app, comprising of the original Baldur’s Gate, the Sword Coast expansion pack and a new adventure called The Black Pits, delivers a gameplay of more than 80 hours.

Baldur’s Gate also includes GameCenter support, letting you play the game with your friends and keep track of your achievements.

The game is priced at $9.99 and is available on the App Store as a 1.7GB download. It requires iOS 6, which means that the first generation iPad isn’t supported.

Overhaul games, the developers of the app, also say that Baldur’s Gate will soon be coming to the Mac and Android devices, although there isn’t any word of an iPhone version as of now.
