Prince of Persia Creator Compares His Game Karateka Running on Apple II and iPhone

Jordan Mechner, creator of the popular gaming franchise “Prince of Persia,” has remade his first game, Karateka, for the iPhone with improved graphics, gameplay and sound.

The original game, released in 1984, was developed for the Apple II, putting Mechner in the unique position of having developed for two different Apple platforms set more than three decades apart.

On the occasion of the release of Karateka for iPhone, Mechner made a video comparing the two editions of the game, highlighting the differences in the graphics quality, game size, pricing and the distribution mechanism.

You can purchase Karateka for iPhone from the App Store for $2.99.
