Apple Job Posting Hints at New API and Framework in the Next Version of iOS

We all have our wish list for iOS 7, but if you apply for a job at Apple you could help shape it. Apple is looking for an iOS Frameworks QA Engineer to help with testing the new things coming in iOS. Of course we don’t know what that could be…at least until June.

The Apple job listing found by Apple Insider doesn’t say much but this is a tantalizing bit …

“the very first iPhone/iPad app that uses a new API/framework in the next version of iOS.”

Maybe we’ll get to pick out default apps after all? That would require a new API and framework.

Not much to go on, but it’s a start.

I hope they are allowing siri access. Imagine the possibilities!

      Would be cool.

I bet this is just NFC

Won’t that require new hardware and not just a new version of iOS

You’re right, but nothing in the job listing points to a “universal” app for all iOS devices. In fact, it’s not new that with every major iOS release, some of it’s features are only available to the newest version of the HW (digital compass, siri, facetime, etc.)
