Excited, then continuing reading. John Coates, developer of popular jailbreak tweak Mission Board Pro has announced on reddit the beta release of his app called Flex, which will allow you to do just that.
Coates explains what it does:
What it does it let you create small tweaks, share what you create, and download others’ shared tweaks. I expect to release it pretty soon, just need to have it go through a beta phase.
To give you a better idea here’s a screenshot of the patches view. Each of those patches consists of one or more “units”. A unit looks like this, and it’s what does the work.
You can instantly download patches from within the app, and activate them straight away.
Patches are very easy to make, and give you quite a lot of power. You can make them for any application you have installed, even SpringBoard. They don’t contain any real code, the tweak portion of Flex is actually what does all the heavy lifting… so basically these patches can’t be installed outside of Flex.
Coates has mentioned that “absolutely no programming knowledge is needed” to create tweaks using Flex as it does all the heavy lifting behind the scenes. He has also created a brief demo video where he shows how a jailbreak tweak or patch can be created to show the timestamp for all the messages:
It’s quite impressive as he manages to recreate functionality offered by tweaks like MarkThatMessage, xMessages in less than 30 seconds using Flex.
Coates hasn’t mentioned when the app will be released, but we’ll let you know as soon as it is released. It looks very promising, we can’t wait to check it out.
