If you’re a heavy Instagram user, then you’re going to find this jailbreak tweak useful.
InstaSnap is a new jailbreak tweak that adds a widget to the Notification Center, allowing users to quickly launch Instagram from anywhere in iOS to take a photo.
The custom widget for Instagram has the look and feel of the share widgets for Twitter and Facebook.
All you need to do is swipe down on the status bar to access the Notification Center and then tap on the “Tap on Snap” widget to launch Instagram. The nice thing about the jailbreak tweak is that it takes you directly to the camera section of the app rather than just launching the app, so you have to just tap on the shutter button to capture the Instagram moment.
Please note that after installing the jailbreak tweak from Cydia, you need to enable it via the Settings app (Settings -> Notifications -> InstaSnap -> Tap on the On/Off toggle for Notification Center to enable it).
InstaSnap is available for free on Cydia, so download it and let us know how it goes in the comments.
Developer of InstaSnap, Raviraj has also released a jailbreak tweak called TorchNC, which allows you to turn on the LED flashlight from the Notification Center with a “Tap to Torch” widget as seen in the screenshot above. It’s similar to WeeFlashlight, but comes with the same look and feel of the share widgets for Facebook and Twitter.
As soon as Apple released iOS 5 back in 2011, which came with features such as the Notification Center we saw a number of jailbreak tweaks that added some cool functionality to the Notification Center (NCSettings is our favorite tweak).
So after a brief lull, it is good to see iOS jailbreak developers continue to add functionality to the Notification Center.
