‘Slide to unlock’ has been one of the iconic features of Apple’s iPhone. We can still remember Steve Jobs describing how the iPhone can be unlocked when he unveiled it in January 2007:
“To unlock the phone, I just take my finger and slide it across. Wanna see that again? We wanted something you couldn’t do by accident in your pocket. Just slide it across – BOOM.”
As the name suggests, the jailbreak tweak replaces the Apple’s patented slide to unlock feature with a “tap to unlock” button, which allows you to unlock your iPhone by tapping on it.
The jailbreak tweak has been developed by HASHBANG Productions, developers of jailbreak tweaks such as MapsOpener (tweak that allows you to set Google Maps as the default Maps app) and BrightVol (jailbreak tweak that allows you to easily control brightness with the volume buttons).
The jailbreak tweak also replaces the “slide to power off” slider with a “tap to power off” button.
