ActiveDock: An OS X Inspired Dock For Your Jailbroken iPhone

Here’s a cool new jailbreak tweak.

The jailbreak tweak ActiveDock transforms your iPhone dock to look and feel like the OS X Mountain Lion dock.

ActiveDock adds the following features to your iPhone dock:

  • It also gives the iPhone dock the frost glass like appearance similar to dock in OS X Mountain Lion

  • It displays OS X Mountain Lion style light bar under the apps on the dock when you launch them. You can check out the screenshot below to get an idea of what I mean.

  • When you receive a new notification for an app in the dock, it will start bouncing to notify that that there is an new notification, similar to the way it does in OS X. It will keep bouncing until you don’t launch the app.

You can enable the app icon bouncing feature even when you launch an app via the Settings app (Settings -> ActiveDock under Bouncing). You also have the option of disabling it if you find it annoying or controlling the time interval of each bounce via the Settings app.

You can check out the video of the app in action to get an idea:

It’s a cool tweak for Mac users who are used to some of these nifty little features.

ActiveDock is available for $1.99 on Cydia in the BigBoss repository. If you’re on a jailbroken iOS device, then click on the download link below to purchase and install the tweak from Cydia.

Let me know what you think of the jailbreak tweak in the comments.

It will keep bouncing until you launch the app, not>…until you don’t launch the app

Okay, I’m not one to whine and complain.. That’s not my style… And this may or may not be the proper forum to post such a comment, but, sometimes the ‘little guy’ never gets his voice heard, so hoping this provides a little bit of voice… I downloaded and installed this cydia tweak yesterday… Just looked like fun…I just liked the idea of a bouncing icon whenever there is a notification… Doesn’t bounce for me… Not biggy… Just a bit of a lunch bag let down… I’m sure that flaw will be addressed as it is a new app.. Would have been nice if it had been addressed before it went on sale… This morning I noticed that on ios 6, that the keyboard shortcuts sometimes works sometimes doesn’t… Kind of miss having them there, so I paid for an installed another cydia app called xpandr… Again a let down, when it still didn’t work.. Sometimes it would fill in the keyboard shortcut most times not… I’ve been trying to be good as of late in PAYING for my apps.. Weather they be from the app store or in cydia… So unless there are apps being made with a trial period, I have to go on faith that they’ll work as advertised… These let downs, that don’t work as advertised, and don’t have trial periods make it very difficult to do the right thing and pay for stuff… Sorry bout the little rant…
