evasi0n 1.3 To Jailbreak iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1.1 Released

As expected, evad3rs dev team has released evasi0n 1.3 to allow iPhone 4S users to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1.

Apple had surprised everyone by releasing iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S to fix 3G connectivity related issues earlier today.

Here’s the complete change log for the four versions of evasi0n released by the evad3rs tem this week:

Version 1.3:

  • Support for 6.1.1 on the iPhone 4S.

Version 1.2

  • Disable OTA updates.
  • Correct timezone issue in evasi0n binary if client fails to correct it.

Version 1.1

  • prevent Weather app from appearing on iPads.
  • mitigated the long reboot issue.
  • fix issue with not working after connecting multiple iOS devices
  • fix blinking of the jailbreak instructions on OS X.
  • codesigned Mac app.

Version 1.0

  • first public release

evad3rs dev team has also mentioned that evasi0n 1.3 should now correctly support OSX 10.5. They’ve also lowered the linux glibc requirement to 2.3

evad3rs dev team is recommending users to update to iOS 6.1.1 by doing a full restore using iTunes. However, I’ve noticed that updating your iOS device to iOS 6.1.1 using iTunes should also work as long as you’ve manually taken a backup of your iOS device using iTunes before using the evasi0n tool.

If you need help then check out our step-by-step tutorial on how to jailbreak your iOS device using evasi0n jailbreak by clicking on the appropriate link below:

Let us know how it goes in the comments.

Thanks D4 for the tip!

I still can’t use iOS weather app. I have tried all the steps but it doesn’t work. The last thing to do is to restore and jailbrake again witht the new release so I cen use the weather app.

Do you have appsync installed? If so uninstall it and restart your iPhone and see if the weather app stops crashing.

How do i know if my Service 3G is bad? I have five bars but sbsettings has me at -77? Is that good or bad? ATT

You can trust the signal bars. -77 is a good signal.

The lower the number (in other words, the more negative) the worse the signal, and the higher the number (less negative) the better.

Anything above -80 is good, and would be considered full bars

Anything below -100 is bad, and would be considered few bars

Did a full Restore to 6.1.1 as iOS update with itunes kept erroring 3194 for some reason. I then JB with 1.3, downloaded and restored from xBackup and we are good! No issues other than the itune update problem which I think I just figured out – had to do with firmware check entry in my windows host file.
