evad3rs dev team has just released an update for evasi0n iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak on Cydia.

The update will fix the weather app crashing bug and also the long reboot issue that was affecting some users after jailbreaking their iOS devices using the evasi0n jailbreak tool that was released on Monday.

The fix is available in the form of updates to two packages on Cydia: evasi0n 6.0-6-1 Untether (v0.2-3) and UIKit Tools (v1.1.6).

To install the fix, launch Cydia, tap on the Changes tab at the bottom, then tap on the Upgrade button, followed by the Confirm button. Cydia should prompt you to reboot your device after installing the updates.

This fix is for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users.

Fixes for the long reboot issue and Weather app issue are now available on Cydia with an update to the untether and uikittools.

They haven’t released a new version of evasi0n jailbreak tool for Mac, Windows and Linuux yet. We’ll let you know as soon as it is released.

Update 1:

If you’re still facing the problem, planetbeing suspects that the AppSync application is causing the problem with Weather app. So let us know if you don’t have AppSync installed and still having the problem.

Update 2:

The update also hides the Weather app that had became visible after jailbreaking your iPad using evasion.

Update 3:

planetbeing has just tweeted that users are reporting that uninstalling AppSync and rebooting their iPhone fixes the crashing problem with Weather app.

Update 4:

evad3rs dev team has just released an update for UIKit Tools (v1.1.7), previous version was 1.1.6, which should fix the issue. It won’t be compatible with AppSync.

Fixes for evasi0n have been released in Cydia. They are not compatible with AppSync (software to pirate apps). That was not intended!

MuscleNerd has clarified regarding the compatibility problems with AppSync and today’s fix:

AppSync didn’t cause weather app problem, but it prevents today’s fix from working. Also likely breaks iCloud apps.Piracy has costs.

I didn’t face the Weather app crashing bug and it seems to be fine on my iPhone 5 after installing the update.

It didn’t make my weather come back either and it was working fine until this morning :/
update: I have my weather back. I uninstalled appsync and then went into ifile and deleted these 2 files and rebooted.

My iPhone 4S is on 5.1.1 jailbroken atm, im sticking with this for now as i use SloPro 60fps for filming, unfortunately it cant capture 60fps on iOS6 yet as the camera files have been tweaked and there awaiting a fix, my question is, i have saved my SHSH for iO6.1, when it comes to me to update to 6.1 i have the feeling apple will have rolled an update out by then which means iOS 6.1 will not be signed anymore, im a mac user and wondering if i would be able to update to 6.1 with tinyumbrella in the future after apple have rolled out a new firmware if not a few? The long boot time is fixed but i only ever had that issue once. The weather app still crashes but i never used it since i have IntelliScreenX.

  Ok after deleting the one app sync installing another version of app sync then deleting it and reinstalling the update it finally worked. Not that i really never used it the weather app but it would just annoy the fuck out of me lol

To ALL who had problem(s) with Weather App and another – I suggest to white a message to Evad3rs through Cydia-> evasion 6.0-6.1 Untether->Author->describe your problem. Also your letter will include cydia.log and dpkgl.log

The evad3rs have release a fix on Cydia which will uncripple the weather app
But as it seem, the problem still persists with users of appsync, that is because appsync prevents the fix from applying
The fix is

1. Apply the fix provided by evad3rs from Cydia (reboot)

2.uninstall Appsync

3.delete
Files located in var/mobile/library/caches
com.apple.mobile.installation.plist
com.apple.LaunchServices-045.csstore
and reboot

4. reinstall appsync
Should work

The weather app Should still be fine after reinstall

my weather app (iOS 6.0/iphone 5) crashed after I did the update, and delete two files in the /var/mobile/Library/Caches did not work for me (I put back the two original files after, and weather app remain crash). However, after deleted the AppSync (for 4.x – 6.x), the weather app back to normal after the reboot. Then I reinstall the AppSync, the weather app still remain good. hope this help!

i think i know what is the problem.People they did they jailbreak with mac the weather app dont work on theire iphone.Now if you download the evasi0n for windows and you did the jailbreak for windows the weather app works correctly and i say that because im using mac and my iphone 4 and iphone 5 dont work but my friends haing windows pc and they having any iphone its working great…

if it’s crashing don’t use the weather app. Just ask Siri for the weather and you’ll get the weather forecast for the city you asked.

As of 10:26pm EST I have installed this fix, uninstall APPSYNC and still the weather app crashes. I can live without it buts is annoying. But hey! This is a small price to pay to have my iPhone 5 jailbroken
