Evasi0n Jailbreak Statistics: Over 4 Million Jailbroken iOS Devices, 5 Million Unique Visitors, 40 Million Page Views [Updated]

Evad3rs dev team and saurik continue to reveal impressive statistics of the evasion jailbreak.

Yesterday, we reported that evasi0n jailbreak was downloaded more than 1.7 million times

saurik has revealed that more than 4 million unique iOS devices have used Cydia since the launch of the evasi0n jailbreak. This is despite the downtime where they couldn’t gather statistics.

pod2g has also tweeted that the evasi0n website has received more than 5 million unique visitors and over 40 million page views ever since the site was launched. pod2g has also been kind enough to give us the top source of traffic: – 20% or 3 million of the visitors came from China, 17% from the U.S. and 6% from France. Here’s the breakdown of the top 10 countries:

This doesn’t come as a big surprise. Evasi0n jailbreak is the first jailbreak for newer iOS devices such as iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPad 4 and iPod touch 5G, It is also the first untethered jailbreak for iOS 6, which was released by Apple in late September.

The surge in traffic from jailbreakers has caused availability issues on several Cydia repositories, which has made it difficult to install jailbreak apps and tweaks. But things are slowly getting better.

The article has been updated with the country wise data provided by pod2g on his blog.

Have you jailbroken your iOS device using evasi0n? If so, which one?

I’ve jailbroken both my iPhone 5 and my iPad Mini Wi-Fi only model. The jailbreak on the iPhone 5 lasted about 5 minutes, which was the time it took to determine that xCon isn’t blocking the jailbreak detection on Good For Enterprise, my work email client. Deal-breaker for me, although it probably wouldn’t be for others.

The Mini lasted about 24 hours, however I’m restoring back to stock now, simply because I’m not seeing the benefits on the iPad that I would see on the iPhone.

The main reason I would want to jailbreak the Mini is to allow me to have an on demand Bluetooth tethering setup with my iPhone. I know MyWi can do this if your iPhone is also jailbroken (not an option at this time), and that a tool called iTether seems to do what I want it to but isn’t available for the Mini or iOS 6 yet (not sure which).

To people with iPad Minis, what are you actually putting on them to make your jailbreak worthwhile?
