Which iOS devices can be jailbroken using evasi0n?
evasi0n is compatible with all iOS devices that can run iOS 6.x. These are:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 5
- iPad mini
- iPad 2
- iPad 3
- iPad 4
- iPod touch 4G
- iPod touch 5G

Which devices can’t be jailbroken using evasi0n?
All devices that can’t run iOS 6 like the iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G, iPad 1 can not be jailbroken using evasi0n. That said, the latest firmware on these devices, iOS 5.1.1 is jailbreakable, details of which are available here. Apple TV 3 isn’t compatible with evasi0n, and can’t be jailbroken.
Can I jailbreak Apple TV?
You cannot use evasi0n 1.0 to jailbreak Apple TV 2, so there is currently no tool available to jailbreak Apple TV 2. FireCore is expected to release a new version of Seasn0nPass that uses evasi0n to jailbreak Apple TV. They haven’t provided any ETA for it so far. We’ll let you know as soon as it is released.
As we have mentioned earlier, Apple TV 3 isn’t compatible with evasi0n, and can’t be jailbroken yet.
Which firmwares can be jailbroken using evasi0n?
evasi0n supports all iOS 6 firmwares — iOS 6, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2 and the latest iOS 6.1. If you’re on a firmware earlier than iOS 6.1, make sure you restore the latest firmware using iTunes and not over-the-air.
Can I unlock my iPhone using evasi0n?
evasi0n cannot unlock your iPhone. If you depend on software based unlocks then you should avoid upgrading to iOS 6.x.
Can I convert tethered iOS 6.x jailbreak into an untethered jailbreak?
Yes, the goods news is that the evad3rs dev team has released a package on Cydia called evasi0n iOS 6.x Untether, which allows you to do convert the tethered iOS 6.x jailbreak to an untethered jailbreak. Check out our step-by-step guide on how to do it.
This is applicable for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G.
Are all jailbreak apps and tweaks compatible with iOS 6?
Not all tweaks and apps are compatible with iOS 6, but developers are working on updating them to add iOS 6 compatibility. We’re keeping a track of the tweaks and apps updated for iOS 6 here.
I can’t download anything from Cydia
The sudden onslaught of hunders of thousands of jailbreakers has overloaded Cydia repos’ servers and it’ll take them a while to recover. So have patience and try again after a while.
I’m stuck on “Patching Kernel” or “Finding Offsets” while jailbreaking my iOS device, what do I do?
Both these stages can take a lot of time, as much as 10 minutes, so waiting for a while should do the trick. If the problem still persists, though, you can do a hard reset (Power+Home) and try all over again. More troubleshooting details here.
What are SHSH blobs? How can I save them?
When you restore your iOS device, iTunes checks with Apple to ensure that you’re restoring the latest firmware. There might be situations when this might be undesirable, for example with the latest firmware isn’t jailbreakable. Saving SHSH blobs are a way to trick iTunes into restoring older firmwares.
