Google Rolls Out Redesigned Gmail Web App

Google rolled out the redesigned Gmail web app yesterday. Google says that the redesigned user interface was inspired by Gmail native app for iPhone and iPad.

Google announced the new web app on Gmail’s Google+ page:

Since launching the rebooted Gmail app for iPhone and iPad in December (http://goo.gl/2m7pd), we’ve heard from many of you that you like the redesigned UI, along with new features such as improved search and integration with Google Calendar. Today we’re rolling out a similar refreshed look to the Gmail mobile web app as well as Gmail Offline (http://goo.gl/0f1ae) that includes many of these same changes.

Interestingly, Google has mentioned the Gmail app for iPhone and iPad as the inspiration from the redesign and not Gmail’s Android app.

You can check the redesigned Gmail web app by pointing the mobile Safari browser to gmail.com.

I’m curious to find out how many of you still use the web app or if you’ve switched the Gmail app (direct iTunes link).
