Fix Screen Brightness Bug After Respring in iOS 6 With This Jailbreak Tweak [Updated]

Have you noticed an issue where the brightness of the screen goes all the way down after you respring your jailbroken iOS device?

It’s not clear why we face the issue, but it can be very annoying if you’re like me who installs many tweaks. Thankfully a new jailbreak has just hit Cydia that promises to fix the issue.

BrightnessFix For iOS 6, the aptly named jailbreak tweak by Jonas Gessner claims to fix the low brightness issue.

While you can always turn off the display by pressing the Sleep/Wake button and turn it back on by pressing the Home button as a workaround, it’s a lot easier to fix the issue by installing the tweak.

It’s not clear how the developer has fixed the issue, but as ModMyi points out “the brightness may go down initially after a respring, but by the time the device starts back up, the brightness returns to the level that it was at before initiating the respring.”

BrightnessFix For iOS 6 is available for free on Cydia. You can click on the download link at the bottom of the post if you’re on a jailbroken iOS device if you want to install it from Cydia.

Let us know how it goes in the comments.

Update:

iFix Brightness for 6.x for some strange reason disappeared from Cydia, but thankfully Jonas Gessner has released a jailbreak tweak called BrightnessFix For iOS 6 that addresses the same issue. So I’ve updated the post accordingly.
