Some Users Reporting Battery Drain And Wi-Fi Issues With iOS 6.1.3

battery issuesLast week, Apple released iOS 6.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to address the lockscreen bug and fix the security vulnerabilities used in evasi0n. The update, however, introduces a new set of issues, as some users are complaining about reduced battery life and Wi-Fi related issues.

Apple isn’t new to battery issues being introduced due to new iOS releases. It happened with iOS 5, iOS 6.0.2, iOS 6.1 and now apparently with iOS 6.1.3 as well. A thread on Apple’s discussion forums about this issue spans across 11 pages with more than 150 replies. User Timurjonchik complains:

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and I’ve been using iPhones since the first one. I miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn’t because my phone was dead.

Several others replied that they were facing similar issues, with not just the iPhone 4S but the iPhone 5 as well.

Many users are also reporting issues with Wi-Fi after updating to iOS 6.1.3 that grays out the toggle in the Settings menu:

I also have the same problem, I updated to iOS 6.1.3, Wi-Fi worked for a few days and then greyed out. Now it is greyed out & not reverting back. I tried reseting network settings but it aint working, There is definately bug in the new iOS 6.1.3.

The Wi-Fi issue, too, dates back to a few months ago, and seems to be making a reappearance. Apple in fact posted a knowledge base article about this issue last year, telling users how to resolve this problem.

There are also reports of issues with the sound on the device, as well as the lockscreen security bug (again).

Are you facing any of these issues on iOS 6.1.3?
