NCSettings Update Brings LTE Toggle To Notification Center [Updated]

NCSettings, a popular jailbreak tweak that brings settings toggles to Notification Center has just received an update.

In case you’re not aware, NCSettings adds a row of toggles for commonly used settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Location services, Cellular data etc to the Notification Center, thus allowing a user to enable or disable the settings from anywhere in the iOS.

It’s not as powerful as SBSettings, but it is sleek and very well integrated into the Notification Center. It also gives you an option to re-order the position of the toggles so you can configure it based on your preference.

Now coming back to the update, the developer has added the much awaited toggle for LTE.I like the way the toggle has been implemented. As you will see in the video below, when you tap on the LTE toggle, it disables the LTE radio and converts the toggle into a 3G toggle, and keeps 3G and 2G radios enabled. When you tap on the 3G toggle, it disables 3G radio and converts into a 2G toggle, if you tap on the 2G toggle then it re-enables LTE and 3G radios.

If you want to switch between LTE and 3G radios then you can configure this in the Settings app by selecting 3G / LTE (Settings -> NCSettings -> Data). The default is set to LTE / 3G / 2G.

Here’s a quick demo of the jailbreak tweak in action:

Please note if you want to disable cellular data completely then there is a separate toggle just for that.

The update (v1.7-1) also fixes the 3G toggle bugs and the touch delay when you tap on multiple toggles. Few days back, the developer had also added the toggle for the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature.

As you probably know, I have been a big fan of SBSettings, but with the ‘LTE’ and ‘Do No Disturb’ toggles, I am switching to NCSettings as it just looks too good not to have it in the Notification Center.

NCSettings is available for free on Cydia.

If you’ve it installed then launch Cydia and download the update via the Changes tab. If you’re on a jailbroken iOS device then click on the download link below to install if from Cydia.

Okay, finally figured out the reason why some of you aren’t seeing the update. It looks like soon after the post when up, the developer removed the update from the ModMyi repo and released it in his repo – So you need to remove NCSettings that you may have installed from ModMyi repo, add the developer’s repo to install the NCSettings update for the LTE toggle. He has bumped the version to 1.7-2 and removed the LTE/3G/2G option, so you have to choose between 3G/LTE and 2G/LTE toggles.

I have created a quick video on how to install Jamie’s repo and install the latest version of NCSettings. Hope it clears the confusion.

Strange, you checked by navigating to NCSettings in the Settings app.

      • Daniel Im

Yup, I just check again, I have the lte toggle

        • iPhoneHacks

Strange, check if you’ve v1.7-1 installed.

          • Daniel Im

            Yup 1.7-1

I have been eagerly waiting for this. Goodbye SBSettings!

For some reason, I cannot find this tweak on Cydia. Is there a special repo I need to source?

    • iPhoneHacks

It’s in the ModMyi repo, which is the default repo, so you shouldnt have a problem finding it.

Try to kill Cydia and relaunch it to see if it works.

I’ve tried everything. I verified that the ModMyi repo was in my source list, reloaded several times, tried on different devices (ipad, iphone4, iphone5). No luck. Where the heck is it? Is there some online archive where I can just download the .deb file?

It looks like the developer moved the update to his repo. I have just updated the post with the details on how to install the new version of NCSettings from his repo along with a video tutorial.

      Same here. :-(

no data option in ncsetting here. 1.7 has the lte toggle right away and I lose it in 1.7-1. It’s weird though in setting-ncsetting, the version it displays is still 1.7.

    • iPhoneHacks

Yeah, the developer moved the update to his repo. I have just updated the post with the details on how to install the new version of NCSettings from his repo along with a video tutorial.

      • Dex

Didn’t work. Still no data option and still shows as 1.7…sigh

  • lizzy

Im trying to install this on my newly jailbroken phone, can any one tell me or post a link with the steps? Thank you!

    • iPhoneHacks

Check out the second video, it shows you how to install it.

  • Wyatt

Weird but I just installed an hour ago and no LTE option. Respring, Reboot, ignore for a while and come back hasn’t worked. Download said 1.7-1 but settings says 1.7.

    • iPhoneHacks

Yeah, it looks like the developer moved the update to his repo. I have just updated the post with the details on how to install the new version of NCSettings from his repo along with a video tutorial.

Ok so I just uninstall the one on modmyi repo and add his, and still nothing? Same thing as before

    • iPhoneHacks

Yeah uninstall the one from ModMyi repo and install this one. You will lose your settings, so you will have to reconfigure it.

      • Daniel Im

Lol, I did that and still the same, no lte toggle or data option in settings app. Any clue?

        • Karch

“reset all settings” in ncsettings. Then go out of settings, close out the settings app, then go back to settings>ncsettings>toggles. I now have the option for 3G (I have a iphone 4s so I don’t think I have a “Data” option in the menu.
