It has been almost a month since evasi0n, the most eagerly awaited jailbreak was released for iOS 6.x and new devices like iPhone 5, iPad 4 and iPad mini.
Jay Freeman aka saurik, founder of Cydia has revealed (via pod2g) that over 14 million iOS devices running iOS 6.x.x have been jailbroken.
New statistic from @saurik: 14,051,500 unique devices have been seen running Cydia on iOS 6.x! 14 millions! and 23 millions any version.

That’s very impressive and we’re quite sure a majority of those 14 million iOS devices were jailbroken using evasi0n, as technically Sn0wbreeze and Redsn0w also allow you to jailbreak devices on iOS 6.x.
Evasi0n jailbreak is the first jailbreak for newer iOS devices such as iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPad 4 and iPod touch 5G, It is also the first untethered jailbreak for iOS 6, which was released by Apple in late September. It had quickly become the most popular jailbreaks ever when it was used to jailbreak over 7 million devices in just 4 days, so it continues to set the benchmark for the next jailbreak.
Unfortunately, evasi0n’s impressive run will come to an end when Apple releases iOS 6.1.3 as evasi0n won’t work with it as the upcoming iOS software update fixes two vulnerabilities that have been used evad3rs for the jailbreak. But that doesn’t mean an end to jailbreaking as the evard3rs have few more tricks up their sleeve to stay ahead in the cat and mouse game with Apple.
