Famous iPhone Hacker Comex To Work For Google

Comex

Do you remember Nicholas Allegra a.k.a Comex – the guy who developed some of the most popular jailbreaks such as JailbreakMe and Spirit?

It looks like he is now going to be working for Google.

Comex has released JailbreakMe, which have been the easiest jailbreaks so far. It used a userland exploit to jailbreak and install Cydia on the iOS device using mobile Safari. But in 2011, he left the jailbreak scene to intern with Apple.

However in October 2011, we found out that he was no longer associated with Apple. Allegra had apparently forgotten to reply to an email offer to continue his employment at Apple as a remote intern, so his offer was rescinded by Apple.

Comex has now revealed that he is going to intern for Google in a few weeks.

He has also clarified that he won’t be involved with Android. When someone pointed out that it would mean he won’t be able to hack iPhone or Android, he said that he is not going to be involved with Android. He also didn’t like Android enough to ever hack it.

Comex has previously said that his employment contract with Apple may make it difficult for him to work on iOS jailbreaks. Now that he will be working for Google, it remains to be seen if he will now be able to work on jailbreaks for iOS again.
