Peekly 1.4 update brings new features and an all-new settings app for the awesome 2-page WinterBoard theme

As expected, Peekly 1.4 has just been released on Cydia.

The 2 page Winterboard theme not only revamps the lock screen but also gives you quick access or “Peek” at the Weather and Calendar from the lock screen.

Here’s a quick look at the new features and improvements in Peekly 1.4:

  • It gets an all-new app called Peekly+, which will let you easily configure all the settings rather than having to edit the js file using iFile. It was one of the drawbacks of the theme. It will be available on Cydia for $0.99. At the time of writing this post, I couldn’t find it. I’ll let you know as soon as it is available.
  • Choose from a number of new weather icons that will be displayed on the home screen such as meteocons, skycons, VIP, sticker.
  • Choose from clock types ranging from digital to analogue clocks such as circle, skew.
  • Configure either a single Peek from the left or Peeks from the left and right.
  • Ability to choose the Peeks. Peeks can be your Twitter feed, Calendar, RSS feeds etc.
  • Ability to change the lock screen wallpaper. You can select one from the wallpapers that will come bundled with the tweak or select a photo from your iPhone’s camera roll.
  • Toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
  • You won’t need to respring to apply the changes.

Here’s a video walkthrough of the new features and improvements in Peekly 1.4:

Overall, the update brings some nice improvements to one of the our favorite WinterBoard themes for the lock screen. The all-new settings app will be a welcome addition for the tweak for all those users who don’t want to get their hands dirty and modify the settings.js javascript file.

As always, let me know what you think in the comments section.

Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend the theme if you are using lock screen tweaks like LockInfo and IntelliscreenX.

Where can i get PEEKLY+ from? I currently have peekly 1.4

    • iPhoneHacks

We reached out to the developer about it. Peekly+ is expected to hit Cydia today. We’ll update the post when it is available.

  • Dave

Had previous version installed, working decently. This update completely broke the install. Not only did the update blow away my modified settings.js file, it no longer works in any shape, manner, or form. Lockscreen has defaulted back to original. Guess that’s one way of forcing a paid update….. :/

    • Matt

@Dave: you need to re-enable the theme in WinterBoard. The update disables the Peekly theme for some reason

  • souskei

    I can’t find peekly+ anywhere either..

    • iPhoneHacks

Yeah, we reached out to the developer about it. Peekly+ is expected to hit Cydia today. We’ll update the post when it is available.

Hey guys, I’m one of the devs for Peekly+.

We submitted both the app and theme simultaneously, but unfortunately, paid packages take a lot longer to process, so while the theme came out within a couple of days, we are still waiting on the app. It is expected to be on Cydia within a day or two.

    Thanks for all the support!
