MuscleNerd says no bootrom exploit for A5+ devices

pwnage-headWith news of iPhone hacker p0sixninja working “a lot of amazing things” and jailbreak tweak developer Ryan Petrich tweeting a screenshot of a jailbroken iOS 7 device, lot of folks, including us, were hoping that a new exploit had been found for newer iOS devices with A5+ chips.

Sadly, there’s no such good news, as MuscleNerd, member of evad3rs and the iPhone dev team, has tweeted that no bootrom exploit for A5+ devices has been discovered. Bootrom exploits are really valuable, since Apple can’t fix them with software updates, effectively making a device permanently jailbreak-able.

It’s not all bad news, though. Upon being asked if Apple has defeated jailbreakers, MuscleNerd responded “not even close.”

Given the surge of activity surrounding jailbreaking, we still have our hopes up. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
