Apple will unveil the next generation iPhone on September 10, according to AllThingsD.

AllThingsD reports that according to their sources, Apple is planning to hold a special event on that date.

AllThingsD reports:

Apple is expected to unveil its next iPhone at a special event on Sept. 10, sources told AllThingsD.

The launch comes at an important time for Apple, which continues to make a lot of money from the iPhone but has seen its global market share dip amid a growing wave of lower-cost Android devices as well as an intense battle with arch rival Samsung.

AllThingsD however does not mention when the new iPhone will be launched. It is also unclear if Apple will also unveil the rumored low-cost or budget ‘iPhone 5C’ at the special event.

The next generation iPhone, which is informally dubbed iPhone 5S, is expected to look similar to the iPhone 5, but come with improved internals such as a faster A7 chip with 2GB RAM, 12-megapixel camera, capability to take slow-motion videos, dual-LED flash, and may feature a fingerprint sensor. It will also come pre-installed with iOS 7.

We can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us. What about you? Do you plan to buy the new iPhone?

Count me in …. the timing would be perfect for me as I would be eligible for the free upgrade by then.

  • Ritesh Joshi

I m gonna buy it on first day…!!!

  • Tim

If it indeed is going to be the iPhone 5S then I will wait for iPhone 6 next year.

  • Casey

My 4s is just fine thanks….. Fingerprint scanner upgraded minor specs no thank you

  • Lee

I hope this fingerprint sensor works flawlessly, and is another Siri.

If it works then I will definitely upgrade, it’s high time we got rid of passcodes.

    • DEFMAD

Hmm, ‘works flawlessly’ and ‘Siri’ in the same sentence. Heh, no offence but my experience with Siri is definitely not as good as yours!

      • Lee

Oops, meant is not another Siri. The experience is not good for me as well, so much so that I hardly use it. What I meant is, we don’t need another gimmicky feature, which we don’t use.

        • DEFMAD

Lol, well that makes more sense!

If it does does not have a bigger screen I will wait until next year

  • Anthony

There is nothing exciting I have heard so far to upgrade from my iPhone 5, so as of now I don’t plan to upgrade.

    • DEFMAD

I’m with you there. Although I did say the same thing about the 5 when I had the 4S, but the taller screen eventually won me over, it just felt so much better to use with a bit more screen real estate. So I guess we’ll have to see what Apple will reveal.

“…2GB of ram…” lol, apple is probably laughing at this, wouldn’t expect them to do that this year… They are so slow with upgrading the ram

  • Michael Prime

do you think it is worth it to upgrade to the 5S from my iPhone 3S?

  • Damien Turner

Shut up and take my money!

This is the first time I have seen these pics, makes it a whole lot more inviting….
