Best Buy has just launched a new trade-in program. It is offering customers double the trade-in value for their old mobile phone to buy a new smartphone with a two-year contract from AT&T, Verizon and Sprint (no T-Mobile).
The trade-in program starts today and runs through Sunday.
Here’s the promotion message on Best Buy’s website:
Double your phone’s trade-in value! For example, if your phone is worth $100, you’ll receive a $200 Best Buy gift card when you purchase a new smartphone with two-year activation.
The offer is available only at certain Best Buy stores, so head over to this link to find the store near you. By offering double the trade-in value, Best Buy should be as competitive as selling your old iPhone on eBay or Craigslist, and more hassle free.
CNET reports that Best Buy is also offering a $100 discount on the 32GB iPhone 5 on Sprint if you sign a two-year contract.
If you’re planning to buy an iPhone, then we would recommend waiting for few more weeks, as Apple is widely expected to launch the next generation iPhone, and likely to slash the price of the iPhone 5 by $100 (assuming it doesn’t discontinue it).
