Facebook Messenger update makes it easier to send Photos and Emoji

Facebook released an update for Facebook Messenger last night, which makes it easier to send photos, and emoji.

As you can see in the screenshot below, users can now tap on the paper clip icon to get options to either access the camera roll, select an emoji or record a voice message.

Here’s what’s new in Facebook Messenger 2.6:

Now it’s easier to send photos and emoji:
– Just tap the paper clip from any message
– Choose photos from Instagram and any other album on your phone

Don’t forget about stickers: Tap the smiley to see what’s new in the sticker store.

Bug fixes

Strangely, the blogosphere seems to report that Facebook has added deeper integration with Instagram, but I haven’t noticed any special treatment for Instagram in the new update. You have access to the camera roll just like before. Please let me know if I’ve missed something.

You can download the update via the Updates tab in the App Store app or using the direct iTunes link.
