Get 1GB of free Dropbox storage with Mailbox

Dropbox 2.0

Dropbox is throwing in an extra gigabyte of space for all Mailbox users who connect their Dropbox account with Mailbox’s iOS app.

To connect your Dropbox account with Mailbox:

  • Download the Mailbox and Dropbox iOS apps, if you haven’t already.
  • Make sure you’re logged in to Mailbox with your Gmail account and that you’re signed in to Dropbox.
  • Open Mailbox and go to Settings > Dropbox and link your Dropbox account.
  • Once you’re done, you should see your Dropbox storage capacity increase by 1GB.

If you had your Dropbox account linked before this promotion kicked off, you can unlink and link again to get the extra 1GB.

Mailbox is a popular email client for Gmail with a focus on task completion that was acquired by Dropbox a few months ago. By linking the two apps, you can add attachments to your mails right from Dropbox.

The added 1GB was flawless. In case it helps, I was logged in to my Dropbox app before I connected Mailbox to Dropbox.

As for the Mailbox app itself, my first impression is that it is something special. I’m not sure if I’ll use it as I have pop and exchange boxes too and I want to manage them all from the same app. However Mailbox’s gestures are very nice.
