Gmail for iOS update brings enhanced attachment experience, better integration with Google Drive and Google+

Google has released an update for Gmail app for iOS.

The update brings what the company says is “enhanced attachment experience” and better integration with Google apps such as Google Drive and Google+, so links will launch the relevant apps if they’re installed.

Here’s what’s new in version 2.4:

  • Enhanced attachment experience – Larger image thumbnails open up into a full screen viewing experience.
  • Better integration with Google apps – Google Drive and Google+ links go directly to the app, if installed. You can turn this off using the in-app settings.

You can download the update via the Updates tab in the App Store app or download the app for free using this direct iTunes link.

Features still on my wish list for the native Gmail app: Unified Inbox, reduce the loading time for new emails and quicker way to switch between accounts.

Have you switched to the native Gmail app or do you continue to use the stock Mail app?
