Yesterday, the guys at FanaticFone leaked the back plate for the fifth generation iPad, and it was a a huge departure from what the current iPad looks lack in terms of device width. Today, that same website is leaked the back plate for the second generation iPad mini, and unsurprisingly, it looks exactly like the first iPad.
Now those of you with eagle eyes will spot that the Apple logo isn’t reflective on this leak versus the iPad mini that’s out in stores, and to that we say this could very well be a prototype. Also, what exactly do we know and not know about the next iPad mini?
According to The Wall Street Journal, it’ll have a retina display. We’d like to add to that rumor and suggest that there are going to be two iPad minis. One iPad mini will have a faster chip than the current iPad mini, but the same screen, and will be “cheap”, while the other iPad mini will have both a retina screen and a faster chip. The retina model will probably cost the same as the $329 iPad costs today.
