“iPhone 5S” moniker confirmed by Japanese carrier website?

Apple’s widely expected to unveil the the new iPhone at a media event on September 10th, with incremental feature upgrades like a fingerprint sensors, a motion tracking chip, and an A7 chip.

Most reports have suggested that Apple will name the device the iPhone 5S, and a Japanese carrier’s website suggests that this will indeed be the name of the next iPhone.

KDDI is one of Apple’s carrier partner in Japan, and their website reportedly included references to the “iPhone 5S” moniker in its HTML source. The references are now removed, but not before being screenshotted:

We still remain skeptical that Apple will let carriers know detailed information about the new iPhone, and it might be possible that the carrier simply picked up on existing rumors.

What do you think?
