It looks like Microsoft is not satisfied comparing Apple’s iPad with Surface and other Windows 8 tablets.

Microsoft has just released a new ad which compares the iPad and iPad mini with Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga, a convertible Ultrabook that comes with a touchscreen.

The ad titled “Lenovo Yoga vs. iPad: College” shows college students in a classroom struggling to use their iPad to turn to a page of the textbook, whereas as the student with what appears to be a 13-inch Lenovo Yoga is very comfortable using the Charms multitasking feature to turn to a particular page of the textbook, and take notes. Students with the iPad are also shown using the iPad Smart cover as a stand and finding it difficult to take notes.

The ad ends with the tagline “Have fun and get homework done.” While the idea behind the ad is quite nice, it doesn’t feel authentic as it appears as though the students are using the iPad for the first time, as switching to a page in the textbook or taking notes on the iPad is quite trivial.
