Last week, Apple and Burberry announced that the fashion house will be using the new iPhone 5s to capture photos and video of the London Fashion Show. Today, Burberry has released a 15-minute long video from the show, shot entirely using the iPhone 5s’ new camera.
Pocket-lint managed to get an inside look at how the shooting took place by speaking to Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey. The Burberry team used 14 iPhone 5s units (golden ones) to cover all angles of the ramp, with nine on the runway, 3 on a moving rail cam, one on the roof and one right in the front.
So why did the Burberry team choose the iPhone and not any other smartphone camera? Bailey says that Apple’s focus on design and quality with the iPhone is what they liked. Of course, what also helped was Bailey’s friendship with Apple’s SVP of design Jony Ive, who helped Burberry get access to the iPhnoe 5s units before they go on sale. Bailey notes that he loved the new slo-mo mode on the iPhone 5s camera, which does seem pretty impressive, as we noted in an earlier post.
Here’s the 15-minute long video:
