At last week’s iPhone event, Apple had announced that the new iPhones will go on sale on September 20, but hadn’t confirmed the time it will be available in its retail stores and the Online Store.
From Apple’s press release:
Apple today announced that iPhone® 5s, the most forward-thinking smartphone in the world and iPhone 5c, the most colorful iPhone yet, will be available to customers on Friday, September 20 at 8:00 a.m. local time at Apple retail stores and at 12:01 a.m. PDT at the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com). iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.
Apple started taking pre-orders for the colorful iPhone 5c last Friday, September 13.
We expect Apple’s carrier partners and Apple Authorized Resellers to also open their stores at 8:00 am local time, if not earlier.
Since it is the first time Apple’s flagship device, the iPhone 5s hasn’t been available for pre-order, we expect long lines on the day of the launch. Some people started camping for the launch of the new iPhones as early as September 6th.
What do you plan to do? Do you plan to order it online or wait in line?
