Apple today launched the widely anticipated fifth-generation iPad, named the iPad Air, and the Retina iPad mini at a media event in the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Here are the details of the launch date in various countries.
Apple has announced that the iPad Air will go on sale on Friday, November 1st. The Retina iPad mini will follow, with a launch date “later in November.”
Apple hasn’t announced anything related to preorders yet, so it’s unlikely that you would be able to pre-order any of the new iPads.
iPad Air and will be available in the following countries from November 1st:
US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (Wi-Fi models only), Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK
You can buy the iPad Air at Apple retail stores or authorised resellers from 8am local time in these countries.
The Retina iPad mini will be available later in November, and Apple hasn’t yet announced the initial rollout countries.
The iPad Air will cost $499, $599, $699 and $799 respectively for the 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB Wi-Fi only models, $629, $729, $829 and $929 respectively for 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB Wi-Fi+Cellular models.
The Retina iPad mini Wi-Fi starts at $399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, $499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB and $699 for 128GB. Wi+Fi + Cellular variants will be available for $529, $629, $729 and $829 for the 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions respectively.
