The eagerly awaited iPad mini with Retina Display has just gone on sale on Apple’s Online store.
Apple had unveiled the Retina iPad mini at its media event last month along with the iPad Air. The 2nd generation iPad mini comes with Retina Display, and is powered by Apple’s faster A7 chip.
Retina iPad mini Wi-Fi only model ships in 1-3 business days on Apple’s Online Store in the U.S, and the Wi-Fi+Cellular model ships in 5-10 days. We expect the Retina iPad mini to be available in Apple retail stores later in the day. Though readers in Singapore and Japan have told us that is not available in retail stores in their countries.
We’re quite surprised to see Apple launch the new iPad mini in this way. Apple typically launches new iOS devices on a Friday, and issues a press release about the launch. We’re also yet to see reviews of the Retina iPad mini. But it could be because supply of the Retina iPad mini is ridiculously tight as some reports had indicated.
Retina iPad mini starts at $399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, and $529 for the Wi-Fi+Cellular model.
Based on the delivery dates, it looks like the Retina iPad mini won’t be available in retail stores today. It will most likely be either this Friday, November 15th or next week.
Let us know if you have managed to successfully place an order for your Retina iPad mini and if it is available in the retail stores in your country.
