Apple brings its 12 Days of Gifts promotion to the US for the first time

Every year for the past few years, Apple has launched a holiday promotion for customers in the UK and other select European countries. The 2013 campaign kicked off today with the release of the 12 Days of Gifts app from Apple. For the first time ever, Apple is bringing the giveaway program to the US.

Since iOS owners have never used the app, I’ll take a few minutes to describe how it works. The daily promotion starts on December 26th and lasts until January 6th. Each day there will be a new gift that’s available for you to download for free. Sometimes it’s a music track, other times you can get a free book, an app or a movie. The free offer lasts 24 hours before it is replaced by the offer for the next day. When you grab an offer, it gets added to your iTunes or App Store library. If you miss an offer on a particular day, you are out of luck.

To keep track of the daily gift, you can download the 12 Days of Gifts app from the iOS App Store. The app is available for free and will alert when a new deal is available.
