iOS 8 Concept shows split-screen multitasking on iPad [Video]

The iPad has been a huge hit for Apple, but there’s a lot of scope for improvement. One of the most frequent complaint, at least among iPad-power users, has been its inability to support side-by-side multitasking.

Sam Beckett has posted a great iOS 8 concept showing how split screen multitasking would look like on the iPad. It’s quite similar to Windows 8’s “snap” multitasking mode.

As per the concept, when in an app, you can press the Home button twice to enter the multitasking view. In addition to the app cards, there’s also a plus icon at the top, which when tapped lets you launch compatible apps beside the current one. You can then use both the apps, resize them based on your needs, and then dismiss the one you no longer need after your work is done.
