Ciccarese Design has posted new renderings of the iPhone 6, based on recent rumors about Apple releasing two variants with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens.
The concept gives us a good idea of the relative sizes of the current 4-inch iPhone 5s, and the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens of the iPhone 6. It also gives us a look at the possible home screen icon arrangements, with the larger screen. Here are the screen resolutions Ciccarese Design has considered:
iPhone 6 4.7″ 750×1338 px Aspect ratio 16:9
iPhone 6 5.5″ 878×1568 px Aspect ratio 16:9
iPhone 5S 4″ 640×1138 px Aspect ratio 16:9
As you can see in the mockup below, the 4.7-inch iPhone has a 5 x 6 icon grid, while the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone has enough space for a 6 x 7 icon grid. This compares to the current iPhone’s 4 x 5 home screen icon grid. (All excluding the dock.)
While the tapered back certainly looks very appealing, a recent WSJ report dismissed that claim. A bezel-less design too hasn’t been mentioned in any of the rumors.
