Apple TV gets A&E, History Channel and Lifetime channels

Apple TV A&E Network

Apple has just added three new channels from the A&E Network to the Apple TV. This includes A&E, the History Channel and Lifetime. Although free previews will be offered to the users, they will require a cable subscription to view full content on these channels. Subscribers of DirecTV, Verizon FiOS and Cablevision Optimum can benefit from this new addition at the moment.

This new addition will allow Apple TV customers to watch hit TV shows like Project Runway, Storage Wars and Duck Dynasty with a valid subscription from either of the aforementioned service providers.

A&E has been striving to get their content beyond the living rooms by recently adding the ability to view live TV from iOS applications on the iPhone or iPad (given that you have a cable subscription).

Apple TV is expected to get a major revamp this year with a new console said to be in the making with plenty of new features.
